The support of the families as well as the constant, informal, but theme based contact, feedback and communication with the parents enabled the educational program to become lifelike. Therefore, only based on mutual accommodation could it operate smoothly and efficiently.
The community is a beneficiary and an establisher of the program at the same time.
In each case, we concluded a cooperation agreement, of which an essential element was that we could only guarantee the development of the children if they came to the Stúdió and attended the sessions regularly. We encourage parents, other family members and members of the community to take part in our work with their suggestions, ideas and outlining of their needs. Thus we created appropriate forums to facilitate this beneficial interchange.
This is a democratic program and is based on interaction and the discussion of problems.
The parent meetings are opportunities that enable the parents to get an insight into each and every element and event of the educational program. Therein, they can discuss any concerns and/or questions they may have with each other and with our colleagues. They can also formulate their suggestions which we then endeavour to include into the programs and events. We strongly encourage the entire family to participate resulting in the inclusion of multiple generations. We also provide playing options for the youngest ones.
The atmosphere of these meetings is cosy and it begins with directed discussion. Next, we host the families in the common kitchen. Here several informal conversations take place and families coming from distant and different parts of the city get to know each other, thus beginning the formation of a community. Here, we provide a possibility for personal consultation with the teachers, ‘patronuses’ and leaders of the program. On these occasions, the transportation of the parents can be arranged accordingly their needs.
These workshops focus on problem solving, discussion and lobbying. They were formulated to address the typical problems of the families and the communities, primarily to develop advocacy and active 'citizenship'.
The work-groups take part in solving specific tasks like the organization and realization of helping parents work in the sessions, community events and the camps. In addition they also undertake useful activities such as renovating buildings, the settlement of environment related matters and potting.
The Free School for parents
This comprises a series of lectures lead by of volunteer professionals and organized pursuant to the interests of the parents.
From September 2015 in cooperation with the high-schools organizing adult trainings, we offer participants the opportunity to complete their middle-school studies and graduate. During the extracurricular, preparatory program for adults, we work with high-school parents in the mornings separately at the Creative Centre. We also provide childcare for mothers with little children.
